How to get money back from your mobile account if you haven’t connected third-party services

Is it possible to get money back from another phone?

Receiving calls to hotlines is most often associated with questions such as “I transferred money to the wrong number - what to do?” In accordance with current legislation, a mobile communications user has the right to return transferred funds, subject to strong evidence of replenishment of the specified phone number.

  • Erroneous top-up of a mobile phone, regardless of the operator, must be corrected legally. In most cases, the procedure is carried out via the terminal.
  • All data about the process is saved in the receipt (company name, legal address, hotline, erroneously entered telephone number).
  • A refund immediately after making an erroneous payment is possible by calling the hotline of the company that provides terminals for replenishing your account.
  • After several hours, this procedure can only be carried out through the corresponding cellular operator.

When making a refund at the communication office, you must present documents such as a passport and confirmation from the terminal. If the replenishment was made through the cash register, then in some machines it is possible to receive a copy of the payment receipt.

All mobile operators (Megafon, Beeline, MTS, Tele 2) provide a money return service in case of an error in the dialed combination of numbers when replenishing your account.

Conditions and procedure for the procedure

“I put money on another number - how to get it back” is one of the most common questions when replenishing.

Let's take a closer look at the return options. To do this, the following conditions must be met:

  • availability of supporting documents;
  • making a phone call from the number to which money should be transferred;
  • providing an erroneous number with differences of several digits.

If this situation occurs and a person accidentally makes a mistake while replenishing an account, then you need to pay attention to the following recommendations:

  • observing politeness standards and avoiding sending negative messages or threats to the subscriber;
  • when carrying out the procedure in Megafon and MTS, it is enough to call the hotline and provide all the necessary data, subject to the above conditions;

If the subscriber is not available or refuses to return the money, then in this case the decision is made by the mobile operator, which is based on the evidence provided by the injured party.

To get a refund if you enter incorrect numbers using a bank card, you must call the bank’s hotline and provide all the necessary data. This procedure is possible if the client applies immediately, since after the time has passed, all questions must be submitted to the mobile operator.

Features of returns from various mobile companies

MTS allows you to return money from your phone to your card thanks to a special one. To activate it, you need to dial the combination *444*incorrectly replenished number#.

Receiving funds from MTS requires compliance with the following conditions:

  • compliance with deadlines from the date of replenishment of no more than 14 days;
  • no more than 3 mixed up numbers;
  • sequence violation of no more than 4 digits.

The refund procedure is completed on the official MTS website by filling out the required form indicating all the necessary data.

The finished document is sent to the feedback service for review. You can also return the money at any branch of the company with a package of necessary papers (passport, terminal receipt).

If money was deposited to the wrong Beeline number, then the company’s official website provides special forms for filling out an application in case of an erroneous payment. They enter all the necessary data and the confirmation code sent to your personal phone.

The Megafon company provides its users with a hotline number 8-800 550-70-95, which can be used to carry out the refund procedure from another mobile phone. If necessary, you can also contact any branch of the operator.

Important

All communications representatives put forward a number of mandatory conditions when transferring erroneous funds, since such schemes can be carried out for the purpose of fraud and withdrawal of money from the accounts of other users.

How to return money to a Sberbank card if you have a wrong phone number?

In the application to cancel the payment, you will need to present a receipt of payment and passport data, you will also have to indicate the incorrect recipient number and the correct number. If the transfer object is a Sberbank card, you will also have to add bank details to the list of these data. The whole difficulty is to confirm that the sender’s phone number, his passport details and the bank account on the card are really tied to one person.

In any case, using a bank card as a transfer object will significantly add hassle and will take more time compared to a regular transfer to a telephone number. And don't forget about the commission.

Is it possible to get a refund if I transferred it to the wrong phone number?

There is an opportunity to correct the situation after an erroneous account replenishment - the money can be returned. Quite a few mobile phone users encounter this problem from time to time. In a hurry, it’s easy to enter the wrong phone number or top-up amount. It only takes one wrong number to mistakenly transfer money to someone else's phone. Often replenishment occurs in crowded places without the ability to concentrate on the procedure. An equally common reason for topping up someone else's and non-existent numbers is the intoxication of payers.

The first solution in such cases is to contact the number to which the money was mistakenly transferred. If you're lucky, a decent person will pick up the phone and transfer all the money back - in about half of the cases this happens. Of course, it happens differently. Many demand a reward or simply refuse to return other people’s money without explanation and simply hang up.

Your mobile operator can cancel an incorrect payment at the request of the user upon presentation of a receipt. To do this, you should visit one of the offices of your mobile operator or fill out an application on its website. Presentation of a payment receipt will be a reason to cancel the payment and return the money from the specified telephone account. Difficulties may arise if the random recipient has already spent the funds received or withdrawn them.

How to get money back from your mobile account if you haven’t connected third-party services

If suddenly one day you notice that money begins to flow out of your account in an unknown direction, this article will help you understand the reasons and, most importantly, return this money. Disclaimer: Habr is not a book of complaints, so a personal example of “getting” into what was described was removed from the article.

How can you even sign up for a service without my knowledge?

Mobile operators have “partners” who provide various types of services (for example, buy a picture as a gift in Contact). The meaning of such services is as follows:

  1. You enter a phone number.
  2. You will be sent a confirmation code.
  3. You enter this code.
  4. From this point on, you are considered officially subscribed to some service (whether one-time or not).

The catch is that operators request the legitimacy of connecting a service from the companies themselves that connect this service (these companies are called partners of cellular operators). Moreover, sending a notification and confirming the connection of any service lies entirely on the conscience of the operators’ partners (content providers). It is also interesting that in the billing of some mobile operators (for example, Beeline) there is no information about incoming SMS, i.e. if they tell you that you have received a confirmation SMS, they will not be able to prove it to you.

All this makes possible, for example, the following scheme:

  1. On January 1st at seven in the morning your phone number is entered.
  2. The operator is sent a notification that you have subscribed to such and such a service indefinitely and have confirmed this service.
  3. They start debiting 40 rubles from your account. every day until the money runs out or you notice a leak (if you pay for your phone once a month, you can easily lose a thousand rubles).

At the same time, when you contact support, they can prove to you in every possible way that everything was legitimate and that it is impossible to return the money.
You may be asked to disable these subscriptions so that money stops being withdrawn, however, even in this case, they may try in every possible way to complicate the process of unsubscribing (for example, with Beeline you need to independently send an SMS with the text “Stop” to each connected number; unsubscribing is most often impossible from personal office or with the help of support staff). However, all this is a direct violation of our laws, so if you have time, contact the police and, for example, the FAS (hypothetically, this will not only allow you to return the money, but also impose a fine on OpSoSov, as well as cover up such schemes).

If you don’t have much time, then at least part of the money can be returned without getting up from your chair (more on this at the end of the article).

What can I do to make it impossible for me to sign up for such paid services?

Another problem is that some providers do not allow you to completely opt out of any paid services in the future.
So, for example, MTS has it, but it, for example, does not disconnect the number 2210 (which can cost you 20 rubles every day). But this is at least something. More details about these services are written in this post. Be sure to connect them.

It is also important to remember one thing here: if you
already
have some subscriptions connected, then these commands will not allow you to disable them (this must be done separately).

I have been debited N rubles and paid services have been activated without my knowledge - how can I disable them and get my money back?

  1. Log into your personal account and request statistics for the last few months in Excel format.
  2. Call the support of your operator and find out what paid services of content providers you are connected to (from which numbers) and starting from what date.
  3. Filter the records in Excel by these numbers and summarize the damage caused to you. This is important to know how much you need to reimburse. You can also try asking support to do this for you (maybe they will tell you this amount).
  4. Explain that these services were connected without your consent and that you did not personally confirm their connection; you did not receive any SMS with requests.
  5. If they tell you that you have confirmed your participation, ask for an download from the mobile operator’s billing, where all cases of such incoming SMS will be indicated.
  6. In a conversation, you can hint that such actions can be collectively classified as fraud in accordance with Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The actions of the operator himself in this case can be classified as complicity (in particular, aiding) in accordance with Art. 33 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
  7. It is quite possible that you will be offered to return only part of the amount (for example, 490 rubles instead of 825). If you continue to be politely refused, it may be worth agreeing to this amount, warning that you will, however, submit a written claim for the remaining amount. This way you will instantly receive at least some amount.

If you reached the last point and did not receive a refund (or did not receive it in full), then write a claim (text below). First, you can try to do this by email to the support of your cellular operator, then go to the nearest office. If this does not help, then there is only one thing left to do - write a statement to the police.

Example text of a claim for a refund

Claim

Starting from January 1, 2013, a total of xxx rubles was debited from my number. for paid services to short numbers 9106 and 2210, which I did not connect or confirm.

The support service cannot reliably confirm the legitimacy of connecting these services, since the company’s billing does not show the fact of incoming SMS from these numbers, and the correctness of the connection is requested from the content providers themselves (i.e., from exactly those companies that unauthorizedly connected these services) and are also called support partners.

Once again, I would like to draw your attention to the fact that I did not give direct consent to connect the service to my number. My rights were violated in the following: - connecting the service without the subscriber’s consent; — debiting money from the subscriber’s account for a service activated without his consent and renewed for a fee at the initiative of the service provider until a direct refusal is received through the office. ...which can be collectively classified as fraud in accordance with Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Actions in this case can be classified as complicity (in particular, aiding) in accordance with Art. 33 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

XXX rubles were returned to my account upon request dated January 21, I propose to make an immediate refund to the balance of my phone in the amount of the remaining XXX rubles. without deducting the cost of taxes and any other commissions.

January 21, 2013 /Ivanov I.I./

How to return money mistakenly transferred to a Beeline phone?

In the case of a payment of up to 500 rubles, if a person made a mistake by one or two digits when entering the number, they can get by by contacting the customer support center. They will only require you to show proof of the payment error. To do this, the person will be required to provide data, including a random recipient number with incorrect data. You will also have to indicate the transferred amount with the date of payment, and this is all supported by passport data.

If necessary, a bank card with details must also be indicated. This will be followed by a quick check by the operator of your data, followed by an application for correction. The payment will be changed in favor of your request with the money refunded to the correct number.

The money will be returned as soon as possible, but this will only happen with a payment of up to 500 rubles and no more than two erroneous digits in the specified number. In other cases, the person will have to visit the office of the mobile operator. Once on the spot, specialists will explain everything and help you get your money back.

Return erroneously transferred money to MTS phone

It is preferable to return your money as quickly as possible and with the least effort - remotely, through an online application. In fact, this is possible and many people manage to cancel the payment without much effort. But this does not always happen; in the case of the mobile operator MTS, the following circumstances may complicate the procedure:

  • When paying, the person made a mistake by more than three digits;
  • The payer made a mistake in the first numbers - that is, the random recipient uses the services of another operator;
  • At the time of submitting the application, more than 14 days have passed since payment.

Otherwise, as in the case of other operators, when indicating the amount and two numbers - yours and the wrong one, you just need to present a receipt and passport data. In some cases, in addition to these data, a bank card must also be indicated. After some time the money will be returned. Otherwise, you will have to visit the operator's office.

How to return money from a phone to a card with Tele2

If you need to return funds from your own number, then when visiting the office you should take your passport and payment receipt with you. A bank account and card with details must also be indicated. An application for a refund must be submitted to the office.

At the same time, during the consideration of the application, you cannot spend money from your phone; exactly the amount that is on your phone account will be transferred to the bank. If there is a shortage of funds, the transfer to a bank card simply will not take place.

In any case, it is important to promptly respond to your mistake when specifying your mobile phone number at the time of payment. It is very important to establish as early as possible whether the funds have arrived on the required phone or not. If you wait too long, it will be too late to cancel the transfer.
