The cost of returning a ticket within 12 hours after train departure is calculated as follows:

  • Commissions for advance payment of tickets are not refunded;
  • a partial cost of the service fee is withdrawn - from 270 to 780 rubles, depending on the cost of the travel document;
  • advertising fee is deducted - 155 rubles per person;
  • The ticket price is paid in full.

Refund of tickets for international flights

  • The funds paid for the ticket, with the exception of the reserved seat, will be paid to the passenger who applied for a refund of the ticket less than 6 hours before departure;
  • The entire cost of the ticket and half the cost of the reserved seat are refunded if you contact the ticket office 24–6 hours before departure;
  • The full cost of the ticket along with all fees will only be refunded if you apply 24 hours before the train departs.

Refund of tickets for interregional trains

  • Returning tickets less than 2 hours before departure and no more than 12 hours after, guarantees a refund of the cost of the tickets, with the exception of the cost of a reserved seat and commission fees;
  • The full cost of the ticket minus half of the reserved seat will be paid if the refund occurred between 8 and 2 hours before departure;
  • The ticket was returned 8 hours before the train departure - passengers will be paid the full amount, except for commission deductions.

Some people do not know what a reserved seat is and consider it a type of carriage. But it's not right.

This is a tariff classification. The total cost of a ticket consists of several components, but a reserved seat can take up from 30 to 80%.

The funds you spent on bed linen and other expenses must be returned in full. In this case, the class of train, the direction of travel and the time of return of tickets do not matter.

When passengers use international trains, they must be prepared for tariffs that differ from Russian ones.

If clients of the carrier company have any problems or complaints, they should contact only the railway ticket office where the ticket was purchased.

What are commission fees?

If you need to return your ticket, be prepared to withhold a claim fee. On commuter trains it is 50 rubles, in all other cases it is 185.40 rubles.

Important! When you receive a refund for your ticket, you will be deducted a service fee . It includes payment for booking a ticket, costs for telephone consultations, etc.

In general, the service fee will range from 274 to 785 rubles (depending on the class of the car). You will be charged 90 rubles for returning one ticket online.

On what grounds can you return a train ticket?

The basis for returning the purchased ticket is the current Rules of Transportation. According to these rules, there are many reasons for canceling a trip, changing the departure date, changing the departure time, but all of them can be divided into two main groups. The first is respectful, the second is disrespectful.

The circumstances that have arisen that served as the reason for the passenger to make a decision to cancel the trip and return the travel document are primarily of no interest to either the carrier’s intermediary or Russian Railways. Therefore, there will be no need to explain them.

The fact that the passenger has every right to return the ticket he purchased is indicated by the Rules of Transportation. When a person purchases a ticket, he automatically agrees to such legal provisions .

If the reason is valid, it is the direct culprit who must compensate for financial losses. For example, the passenger did not have time to arrive before the departure of the train, delivery to which was carried out by bus due to the delay in the departure of the latter. In this case, filing claims with Russian Railways will be unfounded.

For what reasons are train tickets most often returned?

Refunds of travel tickets are made due to:

  • cancellation of the trip by the passenger;
  • passenger being late for transport;
  • the passenger's desire to terminate the trip;
  • a person is late (the reason must be valid, for example, an accident, illness);
  • forced removal of a passenger from the train due to an acute manifestation of the disease;
  • initiation by the carrier of flight cancellation or train delay;
  • failure to provide the passenger with his seat according to the travel document;
  • exchanging a ticket for another date.
